Today D-Link announced the launch of what they claim to be the world’s first smart home camera to come with Apple HomeKit integration.

It has been named the D-Link Omna 180 Cam HD and not only comes with that HomeKit integration built right in, but also a wide angle 1080p sensor that comes with two-way audio and night vision technology, all in a single cylindrical body.

That 360-degree allows you to view an entire room from one location, and thanks to the infrared LEDs, it can even see that action at night from up to 5m away.

The device records all of this to a microSD card that can be inserted into the unit, which is great plus since a lot of devices require you to subscribe to a cloud storage to store video.

With the HomeKit integration, the camera will be able to communicate with an iOS 10 or above device, allowing users to view a live video feed right from the Home app on iOS. It can also send notifications to your iPhone when motion is detected with a video playback view of that event.

It will also integrate with other HomeKit devices such as Philips Hue.

You can pick up the D-Link Omna from the Apple Online Store today for £199.95.

It will also be available from Apple Retail Stores by the end of the month.
