Today D-Link revealed a new update to their Home Smart Plug, revealing that it will now support Amazon’s Echo and Dot devices.

With this support, users will be able to turn their connected devices on or off, just by using a set of voice commands with the Amazon Echo device.

Paul Routledge, D-Link UK and Ireland Country Manager explained more:

“Integrating our Smart Home products with Amazon’s Echo voice control systems is another step in our vision of building an intuitive and customisable Smart Home experience, D-Link is helping users find new and fun ways to interact with their homes by expanding the possibilities of home automation and collaborating with additional technology platforms.”

Alongside this new support, the Home Smart Plug can be used alongside the myDLink Home app to interact with other myDLink devices, as well as, the IFTTT (If This Then That) service, allowing you to create automated processes and device interactions from a number of recipes.
