I’m not sure if you have already watched the trailer embedded above, but you defiantly should after watching it I was unsure if I would be buying a film or a game this February. From the trailer EA has revealed a few more details on the storyline for the title as well as how the co-op feature will work.
As a lot of you may know, the Dead Space series is terrifically scary and the way that EA and Visceral have decided to market the new game clearly shows they know this, with the co-op feature designed for those who were a little too scared to play the game alone.
And yes that is the official main reason for the new co-op mode.
But the way I see it is that this new mode brings an entirely new game within a different playthrough as EA did touch on in the trailer with the title “Two Ways to Play”, this will mean that the game might have a bit more replayablity than previous editions of the series.
From the trailer we can see that Clarke has been forced to take part in an unknown mission, either by himself or with Sgt. John Carver who will be the 2nd playable character for co-op mode, as with previous games Clarke will begin to suffer from hallucinations which were brought on from the last time we seen him in Dead Space 2, and will defiantly make for some cool effects and storylines as you would expect from a new Dead Space title.
The game will launch on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on the 5th of February 2013.
