Back at CES 2017 Dell hyped up an 8K monitor but it didn’t seem like something we would see on shelves very soon, well it seems that we were wrong as that same monitor (the UP3218K) is now on sale, featuring a massive 7,680 x 4,320-pixel resolution.

That said, for that kind of resolution, you are going to need deep pockets. It’s $5,000 in the US.

If that kind of cash doesn’t bother you then feel free to read on.

The UP3218K has a 31.5-inch panel with that 8K UHD resolution and a pixel density of 280 PPI, along with 100 percent of AdobeRGB coverage, 100 percent of sRGB, 100 percent of Rec. 709 and 98 percent of DCI-P3.

It has also been calibrated for a Delta-E colour accuracy of less than 2, which can be customised with various colour modes, an SDK, or the X-rite iDisplay Pro colorimeter.

And that’s not all, it also swivels from landscape to portrait and features Dell’s InfinityEdge bezels with two DisplayPort inputs, one USB upstream and two USB downstream ports, and an audio line-out.

You can pre-order the monitor today and if you do, Dell says it will ship from April 14th.
