Destiny revealed some new information on the first expansion for Destiny today, called The Dark Below the developer revealed that Expansion 1 will be making its way to consoles on December 9th 2014 and will include new weapons & gear, a light level cap increase to 32, a new competitive strike, 3 new crucible arenas, new story missions and a new six-player raid.

Alongside their announcement of these details, Destiny also revealed the following quote to describe the upcoming raid:

“Summon your courage, Guardians. Crota waits in the dark below. Gather your most trusted allies to form a Fireteam, six Guardians strong. Don your best, battle-hardened weapons and armor. Master the depths of the Hellmouth. Face Crota, and live, and glory and reward are yours for the taking.”

They also posted a set of extra screenshots and details on their website, all of which you can find at the source link below.

What might annoy some people is that Bungie also announced that they will be continuing to side with Sony and offer exclusive content for the PS3 and PS4 even with this new DLC release.

This will mean that the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4 will also get an extra strike mission until “at least” autumn of 2015, something which I think many of you might agree as annoying, especially when you consider that the PlayStation already has an exclusive strike, mission and both weapon and gear content.

This is despite Xbox players paying exactly the same to what PlayStation gamers do, and to top it all off the first expansion will be priced at $20 in the US, and you guessed it £20 in the UK.
