Finally after months of waiting and doing odd jobs around the tower, Bungie has today announced that the next expansion for Destiny will be released to the public on May 19th.

That date might seem a little late to you, well it’s about four and a half months after The Dark Below was released to be precise, which is a long time for some of the most hardcore players to be left without any content, especially given that the gap between the original Destiny release and The Dark Below release was very short.

Destiny was released on September 9th and The Dark Below launched on December 9th.

This will however be the final expansion that will be included in the Destiny Expansion Pass content, which gave players to opportunity to grab House of Wolves and The Dark Below for $34.99 instead of $19.99 if they purchased it separately.

As of yet we don’t know much about the release of House of Wolves, but we have seen a few leaks which state that the DLC will focus on The Reef, and will even include a new social hub for the robots to clean.

Bungie has also stated that it will be fixing some of the mistakes it made when The Dark Below launched, such as invalidating raid gear and forcing players to re-upgrade their prized exotic weapons.

However there are no confirmed details for the DLC as of yet.
