Today a team based in San Francisco, California unveiled what they think could be the future of recording security footage from your car.

Called the Dride, it is a connected dashcam that works alongside a companion application on a smartphone to make your driving safer and protect you from dangerous distractions, alongside the usual recording capabilities of a dashcam, but enhanced thanks to the addition of Dride cloud, which is a cloud DVR service that will work alongside the Dribe dashcam and will allow you to save and share you footage with the cloud.

But Dride isn’t just about recording, it also features a real-time safety alert system, with navigation features inbuilt and voice-to-text technology, allowing you to keep up with your day, without taking your hands off the wheel.

It’s a pretty interesting system that could provide one of the best dashcams options available, however, to do that, the developer needs your backing to get Dride into production.

They are looking for $100,000 in funding in order to reach that goal and are offering backers with a pre-order of Dride for anyone who pledges from $99.
