I have always been a fan of Drobo’s storage solutions, but always thought they where a bit too big, the Mini changes all that with a lightweight carbon-fiber body in a small easy to carry round size.
Alongside its smaller and lighter design, the Drobo Mini is also the first Drobo device to carry a maximum of four 2.5 inch Solid State or SATA drives, these are all hot-swapable and can all mount up to a total of 3TBs of storage.
Drobo have also added built in BeyondRAID technology to allow for better protection. One of the best parts about the device is its Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 technology, which allows you to connect to multiple PCs running Mac OS X or Windows.
You can Pre-Order the Drobo Mini from their website for $649, or their higher capacity drive named the Drobo 5D for $849 which can pack a total of 20TBs in 5 different drives.
