Some time ago, we revealed that ESPN will be broadcasting drone racing, and today Sky have announced that they will be doing the same on Sky Sports.

As part of this, Sky has made a $1 million investment into the Drone Racing League, which is a professional league that has been backed by Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross.

As part of this investment, Sky will be showing the Drone Racing League’s entire tournament on the new Sky Sports Mix channel in the UK, the first time that drone racing has made it across the pond. Each season consists of four level races, within which, pilots would be able to earn points based on their performance.

Each pilot will be given an identical drone to race with, which they will monitor and control from a VR headset that connects to the drone’s onboard camera.

Sky have said that they are planning to release 10, one-hour episodes for the current season, starting next month.

Check out one of the races via the video below for a quick look.
