Today EE has announced the launch of their updated version of the Robin tablet.

Over a year ago EE launched this tablet for kids, and today they have announced the launch of a new second-generation version that comes with several improvements to the world’s first 4G tablet for kids according to EE.

This second-generation version still comes with 4G connectivity and a 7-inch LCD display, however, there is some new stuff that includes a new quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.

EE has also fitted the tablet with a new child-proof bumper case that has an integrated kickstand.

The new Robin will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop alsongside their Kurio OS UI.

It will also come with 40 games, educational apps, and eBook pre-installed, and it will now support motion-controlled gaming via the front-facing camera. It will also come with free access to Hopster, a child-friendly portal to watch more than 1,500 episodes of TV shows, learning games, songs, and nursery rhymes.

It also has built-in parental controls for everything else.

The EE Robin is available now on pay monthly plans starting from £17/month on a 24 month plan with 2GB data and three months of Hopster access, or £22/month for a 24 month contract with 20GB data, EU roaming and 24 months of Hopster access.
