Today EE announced the launch of a new offer that has been focused on university students in the UK.

They call the offer a “data safety net”, providing students who are eligible with 500MB of free data per month so long as they are a UK-based university student or in a further education program and have a new, upgraded, or an existing pay monthly plan with EE, which includes EE’s 24-month pay monthly handset plan and their 12-month SIM-only plan.

Students will also need to be registered with the student affinity network UNiDAYS to access the offer.

However, this extra data will be available for use with anything that the user wants to use it with, and they can even combine this offer with EE’s existing student discount, which provides upgrading or new customers with a 20% discount on a pay monthly handset or on their 12-month SIM only mobile plans.

Here’s how to apply for the offer:

  1. Texting ‘STUDENT’ to 150 and entering your unique UNiDAYS code when prompted and follow the sign-up instructions
  2. Customers will receive a confirmation when the 500MB data safety net has been activated
