A new music streaming player that has been designed to bring music streaming to your TV.

Called Electric Jukebox, the music streaming player was launched in the UK this week, with access to over 29 million songs that come as part of a partnership with a number of celebrities including Robbie Williams, Stephen Fry, Sheryl Crow and Alesha Dixon.

electric-jukebox-1The dongle works in a similar way to the Google Chromecast, plugging into an HDMI port on your TV and connecting to your Wi-Fi network.

It will then link to an included controller to point and click on songs and albums that you want to listen to. It will also have a built-in microphone to allow you to use voice commands.

But that’s not all, you will also be able to create your own personal playlists and mixtapes, and access curated content that has been tailored to your preferences.

Electric Jukebox has already signed deals with  Warner Music, Sony Music, Universal Music, and a few more.

To access all of this, you will need to Electric Jukebox TV Stick and controller, which has been priced at £169 and includes a 1-year Premium ad-free subscription.

Once that year is over, you will need to re-subscribe to the service for £52 a year.

The TV stick will be available in red, blue, and charcoal finishes.
