Tesla’s next electric vehicle was unveiled quite some time ago.

Called the Tesla Model 3, it was originally unveiled by the manufacturer back in April of this year, it has been designed to be the electric vehicle for the masses, sadly, it has taken some time to reach the tarmac.

Thankfully, Elon Musk did reveal that the company is making progress this week with the release of some photos of the first Model 3 production units this week.

Musk has said that production of the car will increase to 100 cars by August of this year, 1,500 by September of this year, and 20,000 of December.

To send the first of these vehicles, Tesla will host an official launch party on July 28th to hand out the first 30 completed Tesla Model 3 units.

Sadly, it might take some time for all of the reported 400,000 pre-orders of the Model 3.

And that’s just the start, the Model 3 is going to be an extremely popular electric vehicle at just $35,000 in the US, it is around a third of the price of the Model S, but still features the tech that people love Tesla for.

This car comes fitted with 2,170 lithium-ion battery cells from Panasonic that provides up to 215 miles of travel from a single charge.

On top of that, it can go from 0 to 60mph in just 5.3 seconds, it will feature Tesla’s self-driving Autopilot technology and that massive touch screen in the centre of course.
