Facebook has released its financial results for the fourth quarter and for all of 2014, announcing greater than expected results.

Within their report the company revealed per-share earnings of 54 cents on revenue of $3.9 billion, which is up from 38 cents per share on $2.6 billion in revenue from Q4 2013.

In total Facebook announced that the company have made $12.5 billion in revenue for the year.

Facebook also announced that nearly $3.6 billion of its revenue this quarter came from advertising, with mobile advertising accounting for 69 percent of the advertising revenue.

Facebook also revealed that it had 890 million daily active users and 1.39 billion check-ins a month in Q4 2014, which is up by 18 percent since Q4 2013.

Mobile daily active users also grew by 34 percent to 745 million in December.

Facebook will host a conference call to discuss all of its results at 2 PM PT.
