Facebook is rolling out a new feature to its users that will allow them to send actual gifts to their family and friends on their birthday. The new feature allows users to choose and then buy from a list of presents and then send them publicly on their timeline, or privately as a message.

Once sent, the recipient can then unwrap a virtual preview of their present and then add in their address for the gift to be shipped, the great thing about this, is a present can be paid for at the time of choosing or once it has been accepted, and the recipient can even change the presents colour, size and flavour or just swap it for something with the same value.

The US is the first to get the new feature, with over a 100 gifts to choose from, after which it will be rolled out to other countries.
