Its been a long-long time since I last used the Poke feature on the Facebook platform as frankly its quite annoying, however I must be alone on this as Facebook have today unleashed the new Poke application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. According to Facebook the app will make ” it fun and easy to say hello to friends wherever you are” making use of a feature that has been included in the service since 2004.

Within the app you can poke a friend, send a message/ photo or even video to any of your Facebook friends, each of which can be poked individually or multiple friends at the same time, however each message will expire after either 1,3,5 or 10 seconds, after which the message will disappeared from the app.

A user can then see a message by pressing and holding the message until it expires.
