Alongside their announcement of the purchase of Oculus VR for $2 billion, Facebook also announced some new milestones for the service.

The first lies with their previous acquisition, Instagram which now has over 200 million active monthly users.

This is a number which has grown steadily since Facebook’s acquisition of the service back in 2012.

Alongside which Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company now has over 1 billion monthly active mobile users for the entire service, a number which is up from 945 million from December 2013.

It will be interesting to see how these numbers will increase over time, especially with the future introduction of their plans for Oculus, which are said to somehow increase Facebook’s overall idea for worldwide communication.

However this deal is not said to be completed until the second quarter of 2014.
