Square Enix has today announced that Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn will launch on the PlayStation 4 in April 2014, announcing that the MMO role-playing game will launch in its beta phase for the console on February 22nd 2014 in North America and Japan.

This comes after the PS4 version of the game was first announced during E3 2013, and brings along with i the announcement that gamers that have the version for the PlayStation 3 will be able to upgrade it to the PS4 version for free, as well as being able to transfer their character and saved data to the next-generation console.

The producer and director for the game, Naoki Yoshida also revealed that he will be livestreaming the PS4 version of A Realm Reborn the Lodestone on December 14th at 7AM E.T, as well as showing off the content coming in Patch 2.1.
