Square Enix has today announced that Final Fantasy 8 is now available on the PC, available via the Steam service and through other online retailer services.

The game will be priced at £9.99 / €12.99 / $11.99 depending on your location, and has been renovated and optimised for HD PCs, including features like a “Magic Booster” which allows players to carry more spells, as well as the Chocobo World mini-game that was previously only available in Japan.

You can download the game from Steam and the other retailers from today, and will likely become popular quickly, Square Enix announced that the game was actually the fastest-selling game in the series prior to the release of Final Fantasy 13, selling over 8.5 million copies worldwide.
