Freesat has today announced the release of their own mobile companion application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, allowing you to use your devices touchscreen as a remote control for a Freesat box that is connected to your home network.

The app will also allow users to browse the Roll Back TV Guide, allowing users to view the last seven days of TV programmes. There’s also TV recommendations that allow you to browse hot picks from the last week.

The app also allows you to set reminders for any programme in the future, and will even allow you to remotely set the book to record episodes, as well as search for programmes from on demand players like BBC iPlayer and 4oD, and will even allow those with one of Humax’s Freetime boxes to launch On Demand programmes from the app to your TV.

The app is available to download from the app store today, compatible for both iOS 6 and 7 devices, no news on an Android version yet.
