FujiFIlm has announced its latest superzoom camera, dubbed the FinePix S1 it features a 50x optical zoom lens that delivers a 24-1200mm equivalent focal length. The camera is also the first water-resistant bridge camera, and also features optical image stabilisation with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 at the wide angle and f/5.6 at the full equivalent.

5-axis image stabilisation is also fitted, with the ability to record full 1080p video with a continuos shooting speed of up to 10fps and a 0.13 second maximum autofocus speed.

The camera also features a 1/2.3 inch 16.4 megapixel CMOS sensor, which includes a new image noise reduction system that will allow users to shoot clear photos at up to IOS 12,800, well according to Fujifilm anyway.

On the back there’s also a 920k-dot electronic viewfinder along with a 3-inch LCD vari-angle screen.

The FinePix S1 will be available for £399 later this month
