Fujiifiilm decided to make their announcements very early this morning, revealing the X20 compact camera to the world, an update from last years X10, the X20 will pack an X-Trans CMOS II Sensor offering 12 megapixels of resolution.

Alongside this they have also added an improved processing engine with 30 percent less noise despite the 20 percent increase in resolution, which is all thanks to the removal of the low-pass filter helping for sharper and much clearer shots.

The X20 has the same body and lens construction as the X10, with the same Fujjinon HT-EBC coating for reduced flare and ghosting, the optical viewfinder will now also show settings and the sensor is said to incorporate sensor-level pixels for phase-detection auto-focus for foster focusing.

We are sure we will hear more about the X20 soon, but in the meantime you check out the rest of the news from today at our dedicated CES 2013 page.
