The GPS navigation hardware and software maker, Garmin has this week announced that they will be launched a new navigation application for both iOS and Android called Garmin Viago, which will be priced from $1.99 in the US for both devices.

The application will also allow for various in-app purchases that allows the user to add extra premium features to gain more accurate turn-by-turn directions.

Some of the biggest features includes information on the weather, with a three-day forecast, alongside features like lane assist and photo-realistic junction views.

The app will also feature Garmin’s Speed Limit Display, which shows information on the road speed limits, alongside the users current estimated speed.

“Garmin Viago offers the best navigation technology available from Garmin, helping drivers to reduce stress and save time on the road, the comprehensive feature set goes far beyond simple turn-by-turn directions and assists drivers like no other navigation app. Premium in app purchase options allow users to fully customize their navigation experience and only choose the features they want.”

Users in the US will be able to download the app from Google Play and the iTunes App Store for an introductory price of $.99, until July 13th 2014, after which it will go up to $1.99. Users can also add various in-app purchases which are priced between $4.99 and $19.99 in the US. Early adopters of the Maps to Go and Traffic Live add-ons will also get 50% until July 13th.
