At IFA 2016 today Garmin announced a few new devices, one of which is a new GPS-enabled running watch called the Garmin Forerunner 35.

This new fitness tracker comes with a new wrist-based heart rate monitoring feature, allowing you to track general activities, it is combined with the built-in GPS to tell how fast you are running.

The smartwatch can also connect to the Garmin Connect Mobile app on iOS and Android to store and compare tracking stats.

These stats can also be saved online, and you can compare workouts in real time and set challenges and goals for yourself online. Garmin has also updated the smartwatch with a sleeker design, a high-resolution mono display and modes for walking, cycling and cardio workouts. It can also be connected to a smartphone to control notifications and music playback.

Garmin say that it has a battery life that can last up to 9 days in the activity tracking mode, or 13 hours in the training mode.

The Garmin Forerunner will be available in the US this quarter for $199.99.
