A new app has launched today that I suspect a lot of users on the iPhone might have been waiting for for some time. Called GBA4iOS it allows anyone on iOS 6 or iOS 7 to play GameBoy Advance and GameBoy Colour games on their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch without having to hack their phone.

This is something that Android users have been able to do for some time thanks to its Google Play Store access, and ability to download from external developers, however this is the first time an iOS app has been created in such a way.

To download it users simply download the app directly from the GBA4iOS website, shortly after which the app should install on your device and you should be able to begin downloading and installing ROMs quickly.

And the even better thing? It’s free!

Once you play a game you will also notice that the app has been created with great care, featuring full GBA, GBC and GB support, alongside accelerated speed functions, and even multiple and locked save locations. The app can even read customized skins for the GBA player, and sync with Dropbox to store ROMs across devices.

And that’s not all, it also supports AirPlay, AirDrop and Apple’s MFI Bluetooth controllers.

In the future the app aims to add multiplayer support.

You can check it out for yourself below, however before you do I will worn you that there’s no guarantee this won’t mess up your phone, and we will not be liable for any damages as is stated in our Terms and Conditions.
