If you are thinking about picking up a physical edition of Gears of War 4 then you should read this article.

This is the news that Gears of War 4 will have a huge day-one patch, like many games that are coming out lately, it will have some huge fixes that you will need to download before you can even pick it up.

For Gears of War 4 in particular, you will have to download a massive 11GB of data before you can start playing the game.

Rod Fergusson revealed this in the following tweet:

The reason for this is because standard dual-layer Blu-ray discs can only hold up to 50GB of data.

However, if you buy the game digitally you can speed things up a bit by preloading the 54.6GB package right now, and get to playing it almost install from October 11th.

And because it comes with Xbox Play Anywhere compatibility, you can also load it on Windows 10 for free.
