Google has today announced the acquisition of the UK based Artificial Intelligence startup called DeepMind, in a deal that has been reported to be worth $500 million.

Interestingly TechCrunch recently reported that they weren’t the only business interested in buying the company, reporting that Facebook were interested in picking up the firm last year.

Re/code were the site to break the news however, revealing that the company that has a team of around 50 people and funding of over $50 million, however they did not reveal any details as to the plans that Google has for DeepMind, but it’s likely that Google’s Andy Rubin and there AI Robots.

We should get more information soon however.
