As predicted by a leak a couple of days ago, Google has today made the HP Chromebook 11 official, revealing it to be priced at $279 in the US and featuring an 11.6 IPS inch screen, they also mentioned that the device will weigh in at only 2.3 pounds and will be designed with a magnesium framed design, that will be available in a selection of different Google themed designs.

Under the hood there’s a Samsung Exynos 5250 processor, with 2GB of RAM, a 16GB SSD, dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and there will also be a 4G option available.

Interestingly HP have opted to place the speaker under the chiclet keyboard and the Chromebook 11 will charge using micro-USB. There’s also two USB 2.0 ports, a headphone jack and a SlimPort for video out.

The display will also feature a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution, and there will be a touchpad and VGA webcam included in the frame.

Currently there’s no news on weather the HP Chromebook 11 will be available outside the US.
