This week Google updated their Google Home personal assistant with the ability to provide users with recipe instructions.

For some time now the Amazon Echo has had this ability thanks to its integration with the Allrecipe service, which allowed it to serve up to 60,000, however, Google Home was lacking in this respect.

Until today, as Google has now expanded the number of recipes that are available on Google Assistant to “more than 5 million”, allowing Google Home to provide you with step-by-step instructions for various recipes.

To use it you just say “Ok Google, let’s make a cake” and Google Home will provide you the instructions to make that.

You can also say “Send to Google Home” in order to view the recipe on the Google Search app on iOS or Android.

Once you have the recipe you can say “Ok Google, start cooking” to get it to start talking about the recipe.

You can then say “Ok Google, repeat” to here the last step. You can also say “Ok Google, what’s step two” for example in order to listen to previous steps.

Google released the following video to provide a quick look.
