Today a site named AndroidPit reported that the next Pixel-branded smartphone will be coming in 2017.

In this report, AndroidPit has released a brief interview with the senior vice president of hardware at Google, Rick Osterloh, who they quoted with the following statement:

“There is an annual rhythm in the industry. So, you can count on us to follow it … You can count on a successor this year, even if you don’t hear a date from me now.”

They are then linking this statement to mean that the Google Pixel will also fall into the “annual rhythm” that he mentioned, with an expected launch of the Google Pixel 2 will be around October or November 2017.

Sadly, there aren’t many rumours around the web about the smartphone, however, Osterloh did state that the smartphone will remain in the high-end market according to the site.

So it’s not the biggest Google story of the week, but we hope that it may help you make some better buying decisions over the next few months. Do you wait out for this next device, or do you pick up one of the latest devices, such as those from MWC 2017, the Huawei P10, or even the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8.

Of course, we will keep you updated with all of the Google Pixel 2 news and the news for other smartphones over the next few months.
