Google is still trying to keep its social network relevant in times where the like of Facebook and Twitter are triumphing the company are launching a new feature for Google+ their own social network service.

The new feature is named Communities that will be available for those who wish to join up with others who have the same interests as them, such as technology, gaming or even bird watching, anything you like really.

Thee groups can be both public or private memberships and can include all sorts of topics such as a local pub or even a national football league for example.

Within these communities you can discuss the category’s within each group, even start hangouts and plan events with the members within that community.

The new rolling out today and can be accessed by clicking the “Communities” icon on the left hand side.
