As has been rumoured for some time, Google is taking on Twitch with its own dedicated streaming service, called YouTube Gaming, the service has been specifically designed for gaming videos that are both available on demand and live streamed.

YouTube Gaming will launch this summer in the US and the UK.

All of this will be positioned as a separate experience from the rest of YouTube, stating the following in its announcement post;  “you can search with confidence, knowing that typing ‘call’ will show you ‘Call of Duty’ and not ‘Call Me Maybe'”.

According to Google more than 25,000 games will have their own landing pages for related videos, and their will be specific channels for game companies and YouTube content creators.
