Today Google released an updated version of their Google Maps application for Android.

In this update, they added a pretty important new feature is the addition of a new WiFi only mode for the app.

Alongside the addition of a WiFi only mode, they also added notifications for mass transit delays.

With the new WiFi-only mode you are able to restrict your data usage in the Google Maps application to just WiFi connections, however, with this addition, they have removed the Offlines Areas section from the app.

The new notifications for mass transit delays was also included in this update, which allows you to customise alerts for bus, train and other transportation delays.

The update is rolling out in stages, so it may take some time for you to get it, however, when it’s rolled out to you, you will be able to download it from the Google Play Store.
