A few weeks ago you might have heard that Apple removed the YouTube application from iOS 6, after which Google promised to bring a standalone platform to the mobile OS, which they have kept to today with the launch of the official YouTube app for iPhone and iPod Touch.

The new app has been built from the ground up to match the mobile platform perfectly, the first feature of the app is of course being able to watch videos of those you are subscribed to or simply anyone else, Google have also built-in gestures allow you to swipe from the left edge to reveal a guide of all of your subscribed channels on YouTube.

There’s also a new “Gangnam Style” view which will combine new search tools to give suggestions as you type, you can also use it to sort through videos or channels, select related videos, comments and more info as well as watching the video itself.

You can also use the sharing features and there will be a lot more to come, you can download the app from the iTunes App Store, which I sincerely edge you to do, you will defiantly never miss the previous iOS app after you have this one.
