On Monday Google unveiled newest addition to the Chromebook lineup the Acer C7 which features an “extra bright” 11.6 inch HD Widescreen Cine Cyrstal LED-backlit LCD screen, 3.5 hours of battery life which won’t compete with Samsung’s Chromebook anytime soon, oh and there’s an Intel Core Processor to run it.

Through the HD screen the C7 can output full HD video thanks to its 1366 x 768 resolution  but as always with a Chromebook the focus is a speed, where the C7 does well booting in just 18 seconds according to Google, the C7 also includes a HD 1.3MP webcam, three USB 2.0 ports, a HDMI port and a SD/ MMC card reader.

In terms of storage the C7 does include a decent 320GB hard drive, but Google has boosted this with 100GBs of free storage on Google Drive, the C7 will now be able to auto-update and will include the usual built-in security features to protect from the various viruses and malware out their on the web.

The Acer Chromebook C7 will be available in the U.S. and the UK in various retail stores as well as Google Play for $199 or £199 respectively.
