GoPro are well known for their Hero range of action cameras and with the new Hero3 they are about to boost that reputation ever further, now 30 percent smaller and 25 percent lighter the new Hero3 is available in three the first in white for $199, next in silver for £299 and the third in black for $399.

Now you’re probably wondering the price increase between versions, that’s because the three versions also come with their own separate specs, the white being the basic edition with a 5 megapixel camera that’s capable of shooting up to 1080p video and the silver with an 11MP camera.

The one with all the specs is of course, the Black Edition which packs a 12MP camera that can shoot 2.7K and 4K video, or if you prefer you can also shoot in a normal up to 1080p mode.

The higher resolution will of course come with a tradeoff, as with the higher resolution there is a drop in framerate, the 4K shooting at 15fps whilst the 2.7K only allows for 30fps shooting.

But it’s not just resolution that the Black Edition strides in, as it also includes better glass than the White and Silver editions, with a sharper lens, professional grade low llght and 1440p video capture.

The new Hero3 Black Edition also includes Wi-Fi in-built with a remote and up to 64GBs of storage via a microSD card, alongside a ton of accessories included.
