Rockstar has today announced that it will be bringing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to mobile devices back in December, allowing users to get back on the streets of Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas on their iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Windows Phone, Android device or even the Kindle Fire.

To release the game on mobile, Rockstar has done quite a lot of work, completely remastering the graphics and adding dynamic and detailed shadows, the mobile version of the game will have a much greater draw distance than the original, with an enriched colour palette and access to new enhanced characters and car models.

The game has also been updated for touch controls, with support for three different control methods for driving and manoeuvring as well as compatibility with “Made for iOS” controllers.

Rockstar say that more details on the game will be coming within the next few weeks, including the announcement of a release date.
