Today the open beta for Halo Wars 2 has kicked off on the Xbox One and on the PC.

Anyone can sign up to take part in the beta as long as they have a PC or an Xbox One. On the Xbox the download is sized at 10.1GB and on the PC it is sized at 11.96GB, so it is quite the install for a beta, however, if you are interested you should definitely give it a go.

You can download it from the links below.

This second beta will be based around the games card-based mode, Blitz.

In that mode you will build a deck and then deploy your units in an attempt to capture and hold control point around a map. The more points you hold, the more points you will score. The most points wins.

There will be 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 options available for the mode with support for matchmaking.

If you play it, you can earn two card packs for the upcoming game. One for logging in and another for completing your first match, however, any progress from the beta will not carry over to the full game.

Halo Wars 2 will officially launch on February 21st for the Xbox One and PC, however, if you buy the Ultimate Edition, you can play it early on February 17th. As it is a Play Anywhere title, if you purchase a copy for one of them, you get a copy for both.
