Blizzard has today announced that their turn based card game Hearthstone will launch on Android tablets later this year in a new free to play version.

This news comes after that game launched back in March 2014 for the PC and the Mac, and then Apple’s iPad and Windows 8 devices shortly after.

Blizzard explained the platform addition with the following statement: “We’ve got our sights set on a release for Android tablets, our next new platform, before the end of the year; we’ve just got a few more mana crystals to polish and some Angry Chickens to chase down.”

“Releasing Hearthstone on iPhone and Android phones is something we’re incredibly excited about, but ultimately we’d rather take the extra time to make Hearthstone’s user interface on the phone customized to feel great for the platform”

From the get go players will start the game with a collection of basic cars which can then be added to by completed the career mode of the game and playing the coms in order, and then be added to further by purchasing packs of additional cards from the game’s store, or even grabbed as a reward for competing in the Arena.

And that’s still not all players can also destroy unwanted cards in exchange for arcane dust, which can then be used to create new extra cards, or players can by cards packs with in-game gold, which is rewarded to the player for competing in random daily guests, for winning matches or for a trade of real money.
