This week marked the 33rd year of the Golden Joystick awards, the only annual awards that is voted for by the gamers themselves.

One of the biggest winners from the show was CD Projekt RED who picked up studio of the award, as well as a number of awards for The Witcher 3 including best storytelling, best visual design, best gaming moment and ultimate game of the year.

Grand Theft Auto V also picked up four awards including the PlayFire most played award, innovation of the year, best multi-player and best PC game.

Satoru Iwata, the former Nintendo CEO took lifetime achievement award, and PewDiePie took the gaming personality award for the second year running.

Best gaming platform: Steam

Best gaming performance: Ashly Burch as Chloe in Life is Strange

Best PlayStation game: Bloodborne

Best Nintendo game: Splatoon

Best PC game: GTA 5

Best Xbox game: Ori and the Blind Forest

Most wanted game: Fallout 4

Ultimate game of the year: Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Lifetime achievement: Satoru Iwata

Playfire most played: GTA 5

Critics’ choice: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
