There seems to be a craze going round with touchscreens in devices, with various laptop and tablet mixed devices and now HPs newest 15 inch ultrabook which comes packed with its own touchscreen, which comes with similar specs to the Spectre XT announced earlier this year, but of course include that touchscreen.

The XT has been designed with an aluminum and magnesium design, which was a design first introduced on the 13-inch XT, alongside which the Spectre XT TouchSmart also includes a 15 inch Full HD IPS Touchscreen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, all in a thin and lightweight design, measuring and weighing in at 17.9mm and 4.77 pounds.

Inside the Ultrabook is an Ivy Bridge processor, which can be configured with either a SSD or Hybrid Hard Drive paired with a 32GB SSD.

Alongside the Spectre XT, HP are also launching the Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4, which ffeatures the same design as the Envy ultrabooks and sleekbook available today, but with a touchscreen. See a pattern yet?, The Envy’s touchscreen is no where near as good as the Spectre however with a 1,366 x 768 resolution it’s a bit disappionting, but this can be configured with some much bigger and better specs at the checkout.

The 15 inch Spectre XT TouchSmart will be available sometime in December and will cost around $1,400, as for the Envy 4 we don’t really know to be honest, we should hear more over the coming months however.
