HP has this week announced the launch of a new backpack PC that has been designed to allow you to game in VR on the go.

Designed to provide you with the ability to play on systems like the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift on the game, the backpack crams a desktop computer that is powerful enough the run these systems, without have to trail cables across the room to a desktop PC.

Called the HP Omen X, it features a number of notebook components that have been designed to run VR content with no hassle. The backpack also features a black and red design and weighs under 4.5kg.

That said, HP hasn’t revealed information on the specs of the backpack yet as it is still in the prototype stage.

HP did reveal details about its battery, which is said to keep the machine running on the go for an hour, but it also features two extra batteries so you can hot-swap more power for longer VR sessions.

At the moment, that’s about all we know about the backpack, but we will let you know more when we do.
