Without notifying anyone, HP has gone ahead and launched a new 8-inch Android tablet in the US called the HP 8, a budget tablet which will be aimed at the mid-low end markets.

The tablet features a 7.85 inch IPS display with a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, an APM Cortex A7 quad-core processor made by the Chinese based producer Allwinner.

On top of that the HP 8 also features 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 802.11 b/g/n wireless connectivity, a 3,800mAh Lithium polymer battery that is said to last up to 7 hours, a 0.2Mp front-facing camera and a 2MP rear-facing camera.

The tablet also weighs 0.69 lbs, and measures 200.3mm x 136.3mm x 7.95 mm, packing Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean pre-installed with 25GB of free Box cloud storage.
