This month HP announced a brand new point-of sale (POS) system that is designed for retail use but enterprise-grade security.

It called HP ElitePOS and is a system that looks extremely sleek. As you can see in the image above, the system has a modern look with a modular focus that allows it to stand out from the terminals that you might see in stores a lot of the time, allowing retailers to keep their counter looking as clean as possible.

One of the main modular capabilities of the system is that it features a display that can be separated from the main module and then used anywhere in your store.

You can also integrate a receipt printer right into that module, a magnetic stripe reader in the display and much more alongside it, such as a barcode scanner. You can also add a fingerprint reader if you would like to further secure your terminals.

But HP has designed it to be much more than just a payment terminal. It also features interactive signage features and even self-service applications that allow customers to check out by themselves.

It runs on an Intel Core Kaby Lake processor and Windows 10 pre-installed alongside HP’s Sure Start Gen3 and BIOSphere Gen3 technology for BIOS level protection. Also it has Credential Guard and Device Guard features on the Windows 10 Enterprise system and you can bolt the whole system to a counter if you so choose to.

HP’s ElitePOS will be available from later this month, however, pricing has not been revealed just yet, unfortunately.
