Something interesting might be happening with HTC, they might just be looking at releasing their own Windows Phone powered devices after a version of the HTC One M8 running the OS was leaked by Verizon this week.

The leak stated that the device will run on Windows Phone 8.1, and come with a number of HTC exclusive applications pre-installed. It also pretty much confirms the release of the device, something we havn’t been able to do from previous rumours.

It seems that the device will still include the same specifications that can be found in the Android varient, still featuring the HTC Duo Camera and BoomSound speakers alongside a 5 inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM 16/32GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 2,600 mAh battery, just wrapped in a Windows Phone covering.

As of yet there’s no news on wether the device will launch exclusively on Verizon, or make its way to other countries outside of the US, however HTC has scheduled a press event in New York City on August 19th, so we should find out more then.
