A few weeks ago HTC released two new Windows Phone 7 smartphones called the HTC Titan and the HTC Radar, both of which where announced during IFA in early September, and run the newest version of WP7 Mango, but the question is which one is the best.

At the moment there is no official word on a network or an exact pricing structure just yet, but we do know both of the phones specs, and that the HTC Titan has an expected release date of the 4th of October, to start of with the showdown, we firstly compare the design of the phones.

HTC Radar HTC Titan HTC Unveils Radar and Titan Windows Phone Mango Handsets

The first part of the design differnces between these devices is that the first device, the titan is an absolute powerhouse whilst the Radar is more of a traditional HTC device, the Titan is a full featured yet slim device, with a 9.9mm frame and a large 4.7 Super LCD display.

The Radar on to other hand had the same Super LCD display and Gorilla Glass attribute, but the screen is a slightly smaller 3.8 inches as well as a slightly thicker 10.9mm frame. Both of the devices have also been designed with a contemporary aluminium unibody design, although the Titan’s edges are a lot smoother.

Overall in my opinion I prefer the HTC Titan as it looks a lot sleeker and smoother all finishing with an amazing professional look, whereas I think the Radar looks a bit more plastic.

Both of the handsets also have some shared features as well as some of their own, one of the features the devices share is an inbuilt camera with a dedicated camera button.

The HTC Titan has a nice 16GB’s of inbuilt storage, and is powered by a 1.5GHz processor, as well as this the Titan has a 8 megapixel camera with 720p video support, on the front the device also has a 1.3 megapixel camera, which can be used for both video calling and taking photos.

The Radar is not as packed with features as the Titan is with only 8GB’s of storage, and is powered by a less powerful 1GHz processor, as well as a 5 megapixel camera with 720p video support on the back, as well as a VGA front facing camera.

In terms of what the phones run, they both run the newly released WP7 Mango, which will provide you with access to all of the Windows Phone OS features, alongside the ability to make Skype video calls and internet sharing.

In conclusion both of these Smartphones are simply amazing, and are defiantly brilliant options for anyone looking for a new smartphone, in my opinion, I would pick the HTC Titan as it has a lot more features packed into a tiny design.
