Huawei has today confirmed the release of a special edition version of its Huawei Ascend P7, called the Sapphire Edition.

The announcement happened at the IFA 2014 conference, and detailed how the phone will include more or less the same specs and the original P7 but with tougher and more attractive materials.

The phone also uses Sapphire glass on the front, which means that the screen should be more sturdy than the usual Gorilla Glass display.

Aside from the Sapphire glass, the rest of the phone is covering a ceramic finish, with a metal frame that has been designed in a rose gold colour.

In terms of specs the phone has a 5-inch 1080p display, a 13MP camera, a quad-core 1.8GHz Cortex-A9 processor and 2GB of RAM.

As of yet Huawei has yet to confirm a release date or pricing for the edition.
