You may remember just over a month ago I wrote about how the Huawei Ascend had been announced at CES 2013, and was to be an exclusive in the UK with the carrier O2. The only problem with that post was that at the time we didn’t know any pricing or an exact release date.

Well now we do, as the manufacturer have today confirmed that the phone will launch in the UK from March 7th for £119.99 on Pay As You Go, or from £13.50 a month on a pay monthly contract.

For which you get a phone with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, a 4 inch display with a 480 x 800 resolution, 4GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel rear-view camera and a 1,950mAh battery, and of course running Windows Phone 8.

Pretty good for the price.

A price which will at first get you the phone in Electric Blue, with an Electric Pink version launching on March 18th.

There’s no news on how long the exclusive deal will last with O2, or even if any other carrier will be involved with the Ascend W1, but we will let you know if anything develops.
