Today a new leaked image was posted that might show an early look at Huawei’s next smartphone, the Huawei Mate 9.

This leaked render was posted on the Chinese site Weibo, who shown an image of the device that seems to show the Mate 9 with Leica branding and possibly confirming that the smartphone will continue Huawei’s and Leica’s partnership, following on from the Huawei P9 and the P9 Plus.


The site claims that the Huawei Mate 9 will come with a similar dual camera setup, featuring an aperture of f/2.0, a huge improvement over the P9’s f/2.2.

This was revealed in some leaked slides that was posted on Weibo, which revealed three tiers that have varying amounts of storage and memory, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for the base model, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for the mid-model, and 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for the top-model.

They will also reportedly be available in graphite, white, gold, rose gold, black, and silver.

However, nothing is official about this smartphone yet, so you will have to keep checking back when we do hear something official, it is reported that the device will be announced at some point between November and December.
