The new 12-inch Retina MacBook was announced by Apple recently, and so that means that is time for another tear-down from the guys at iFixit.

This new 12-inch Retina MacBook is similar to the previous edition, featuring a 2,304 x 1,440 pixel resolution display, with an Intel Core processor, 8GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage.

It also comes with Intel HD Graphics 515 inside.

iFixit say that the design of the Retina MacBook is almost identical to last year’s model, however, there is a new Rose Gold colour option.

As such, the MacBook scored a similar score to the previous one on their repair index, which rates devices for ease of repair on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the easiest to repair and 10 being the most difficult.

This new 12-inch Retina MacBook achieved a score of 1 out of 10 on the iFixit repair index, meaning that it’s not something that you are going to repair yourself.
